Description

LOT OF TWO (2) CERAMSEAL HIGH PURITY ALUMINA
CERAMIC DOUBLE-BORE
FEED THRU INSULATOR
No.: 111
You are buying ONE LOT OF TWO (2) each of a High Purity Alumina Ceramic Double-Bore Feed Thru Insulator in mint condition being NOS (New Old Stock). It is made from 96% purity Aluminum Oxide (Al
2
O
3
) which of course is Alumina. Generally the balance of composition for this purity Alumina material is of Silicon Dioxide (SiO
2
) which is Silica. These would have generally been metalized on  the IDs of the holes to create hermetically bonded feed thru electrodes or gas lines in High Vacuum equipment.
This material has very high hardness, very high stiffness, very good corrosion resistance to chemicals at high temperature, and very high refractoriness or use temperature. They may be used for a variety of electrical, mechanical, and thermal applications. They may be used as setter plates for firing parts in a kiln. The may be used for high temperature furnaces and as high temperature refractory turntables. They may also be used for jewelry or for applications requiring high wear or abrasion resistance. Your imagination is the only limiting factor in the spectrum of possible applications for this component. Be sure to view all photos as they are an integral component of the item description.
The specifications for these components are as follows:
Outside Diameter:
Approximately 1.050” +/- 0.005" (26.7mm)
Small Hole Diameter:
Approximately 0.093”+/- 0.005" (2.36 mm) ( 2 Places)
Large Hole Diameter:
Approximately 0.230" +/- 0.005"
Chamfer:
Approximately 45 degrees x 0.035” +/- 0.005"
Length/Thickness:
Approximately
0.375” +/- 0.005" (9.53 mm)
Please Note:
There are visually discernible differences in any or all of the dimensions. These are measured precision technical ceramic components. Some may have acceptably small chips on some edges. They do not interfere with the product performance. There may also be minor “firing” color variations inherent in the material. The thermal shock resistance is not very high so exercise rule of thumb caution. “The larger the piece of material the slower the rate of temperature increase should be applied to the piece.” Heat up slowly to avoid cracking in use.

These components were not specifically manufactured for an individual application; therefore be sure to check the dimensional descriptions carefully for your application. Future returns or requests for refunds, because of some "fit" issue or the like will not be honored. Please check the other Alumina component variants that are available in my listings for the model or size that best fits your requirement.
