This is the Patrol Squadron 46 1971 Deployment to Adak and Guam Commemorative Cruise Book.  It is the story of long hours and hard work aloft and on the ground;  a challenging mission successfully completed.  We flew sixty-eight hundred hours in six months, and spent thousands more on the deck in round-the-clock aircraft maintenance, long and lonely watches, and pushing the mountains of paperwork which kept 'em flying.  Our mission took us to more than a dozen ports-of-call all over the Pacific Ocean, from tropical islands to cold and windy rocks in the Bering Sea; we chased subs, patrolled the ocean, trained our air-crews, bought souvenirs, basked in the southern sun, and shivered in the ice and snow.  This book is dedicated to the officers and men of VP-46, who wrote the story and to the families we're come home to.
