This tripod is super heavy duty. The 4800 tripod features: Independent leg elevation adjustments for leveling on uneven terrain. Tripod yoke with three levels that make finding level a breeze. V-style legs with twin leg locking collars. Geared center-column extension.
Maximum load capacity of 50lb/22.7kg
They simply don't make tripods like this anymore. This is great vintage engineering at it's finest. The tripod and tripod head are quite heavy, I believe weighing about 25 pounds. With the legs extended and the middle part fully extended upward, this tripod stands over 6 feet tall! With straightened legs and extended fully, it's 88 inches from top to bottom of the leg.
Condition
Pre-owned, showing plenty of signs of use and aging.
Screws have rust on the heads but can still be unscrewed without a problem and the inner part of the screws are not rusted. The springs are also a little rusted but nevertheless they function well still. A little dusty in the crevices but I wiped it down recently.
